Meet our Team of Authentic Midwives

Our practice is more than just our profession; it’s our life calling. Our team of licensed midwives are highly trained and experienced to provide endless support, medical guidance, and valuable education throughout your pregnancy journey.

Sophia

Primary Midwife

My name is Sophia, and I am a radical birth keeper and authentic Midwife. I’m located in northern California in a beautiful little town called Forestville. Sonoma County is the place I call home with my husband and our two young children who love to explore. I enjoy staying active, going on hikes, and dancing with friends.

I first discovered homebirth and Midwifery when I nannied for a family that experienced homebirth. Though, at age 5, I told a friend that I wanted to “watch babies be born” when I grew up…so clearly I knew my path early on.

I’ve enjoyed every minute of my education and love the midwife I’m growing into.

Licensed midwives are still apart of the medical system that many families are trying to escape. As a licensed midwife myself, it’s my responsibility to always center you, your family, and your choices.

Emma

Primary Student Midwife

Emma herself was born at home, as well as her 11-year-old daughter. Emma has known since she was five years old when she was attending a younger sibling’s birth that she wanted to someday be a midwife herself.

Emma believes our greatest gift as Midwives is the chance to witness the power of birth, and how it transforms those who get to bear witness to its magic.

Emma has been a doula and newborn care specialist for many years and has a background in music. When she isn’t attending births, she enjoys writing music at her piano, gardening, playing with her goats, and spending quality time with her daughter.

Lea

Back-up Midwife

My journey to midwifery started at a young age. I’ve always viewed birth as a natural process belonging solely to the family. Midwifery always felt close to home as I was born at home myself.

As a teenager, I involved myself in women’s health issues, reproductive rights, and the body positivity movement. Once I became pregnant, I began exploring different options for women and their families. I decided to give an unmedicated birth to my first daughter. This transformative birth experience combined with the experience of witnessing my best friend’s home birth moved me to become a Doula and Midwife.

My mission is to serve woman, offering them an exceptional level of care and the space to welcome their baby with love and respect as a family

Clover

Student Midwife

Clover is a fourth year midwifery student. She was born at home in Berkeley, CA and was raised with a profound respect for the body’s wisdom. Since she was a teenager, she felt drawn to community midwifery, and spent her early twenties working as a doula and immersing herself in reproductive health work.

For her, midwifery is a devotional practice. She gives gratitude to every family that has welcomed her into their birth space and allowed her to learn through witnessing them in their own unfolding.

Outside of midwifery school, she loves to surf and likes to get in the ocean at least once a week. When she’s not out in the woods or surfing, she likes to bake and read science fiction.”
